A National Network: GFI

To promote common interests, and to use synergies: these are the declared aims of the Society for the Promotion of the Interests of German Wholesale Markets, known by its German initials GFI.

The GFI was established in 2000 to act as a marketing association for Germany’s wholesale markets and was reorganized in 2012 after it had been decided to admit retail markets as members and expand the range of tasks addressed by the association. GFI sees itself as a network of partnerships, creating for its members an organization that permits a wide-ranging transfer of knowledge about core trade management issues and common presentation platforms - for example the shared stand at the Fruit Logistica fair or the website » www.frischemaerkte.org – and supporting cooperative ventures with national and international growers.
